GUIDELINES SUBMISSION

(A) INNOVATION COMPETITION

A POSTER

  1. Content: Background, Problem statement, Objective, Methodology, Results and Discussion, and Contribution to Society. Also, include the authors’ names and university/school logo.
  2. Poster size: A2 (420 mm x 594 mm), Orientation – Portrait, Formats – .pdf.
  3. The top section of your Poster must display the following information: Title of your Paper, Name(s) of the Author(s) and Affiliation(s).
  4. The poster should be a clear visual presentation.
  5. Rename your e-poster file according to the following format (Scope_Poster_Innovation ID.pdf)

A PRE-RECORDED VIDEO

  1. Content: Background, Problem statement, Objective, Methodology, Findings, Contribution to Society, and Project Demo.
  2. Evaluation: Will be used by the juries for evaluation.
  3. Rename your video file according to the following format (Scope_Video_Innovation ID.mp4).
  4. All presenters must submit video recordings in MP4 format. Presenters should be visible in both the video recording and/or within the frames/slides.
  5. All video recordings must be in landscape format and not more than 5 minutes.
  6. All wording on the presentation must be clear and large enough to read.

(B) IDEATION CHALLENGE

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

  1. Executive Summary must be prepared according to the template HERE

  2. Content: Problem Statement, Introduction, Objectives, Methodology, Expected output and Future/potential applications.
  3. Rename your executive summary file according to the following format (Scope_Exec_Ideation ID.pdf).

  1. Content: Executive summary, Creativity and Innovation, Efficiency and Practicality, Impact and Significant and Presentation. Also, include the authors’ names and university/school logo.
  2. Poster size: A2 (420 mm x 594 mm), Orientation – Portrait, Formats – .pdf.

JUDGING CRITERIA

A) Innovation Competition

  1. Each submission will be judged based on the following:
    1. Poster (60%)
      • Novelty (new Ideas): 5%
      • Innovativeness: 5%
      • Content (Problem statement, objective, methodology, result, and discussion): 30%
      • Cost effectiveness: 10%
      • Impact: 5%
      • Creativity: 5%
    2. Physical presentation/pre-recorded video (40%)
      • Applicability (demonstration): 15%
      • Creativity (Design of Ideas): 5%
      • Confidence: 10%
      • Involvement: 10%
      • Q&A: 10%
  2. Please be informed that teams that fail to comply with the competition rules may receive mark deductions from the judges.
  3. The judges’ decision is final.

B) Ideation Competition

  1. Each submission will be judged based on the following:
    1. Executive Summary (30%)
      • Introduction: 5%
      • Problem statement: 5%
      • Objectives: 5%
      • Methodology: 5%
      • Expected output: 5%
      • Future/potential applications: 5%
    2. Poster (30%)
      • Creativity & Innovation (novelty): 10%

      • Creativity : 5%
      • Confidence: 5%
